Circle B Bar Reserve

The Circle B Bar Reserve is an ideal place to see all sorts of wildlife, including American alligators. While they can be dangerous if provoked, alligators are actually quite shy and will usually avoid people. However, if you’re lucky, you may get to see one of these prehistoric reptiles sunning themselves on the banks of the ponds or swimming through the murky waters.

The Circle B Bar Reserve is a popular spot for birders and nature lovers in Lakeland. Spanning over 1,267 acres, the reserve is home to many different kinds of animals, including alligators. Gators can be found in the reserve’s many ponds and creeks, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled if you’re visiting.

Once a cattle ranch, the Circle B Bar Reserve today is host to an array of different ecosystems. Park visitors can almost always see alligators in Lake Hancock while sandhill cranes and great blue herons soar overhead as eagles hunt for their next meal.

Circle B Bar Reserve is an oasis for the senses. The wildflowers that flourish here are a part of what makes this place so special, and their beauty can be attributed in large part to scrub mint Conradinas and Garberias lighting up our fields with beautiful colors during springtime when they bloom.

The Reserve offers visitors an opportunity to explore a large part of natural beauty. Though the canopy is covered with oak trees, it’s not overpowering because there are other plants present, including wildflowers. The views at this wildlife refuge are worth more than just their weight in gold. You can take a hike on one of its trails to spot animals like meadowlarks and quail, who frequent these parts as well. You might even see families lounging around sunbathing spots such as fallen logs or flooded grasslands-that is, if they’re not out exploring themselves first, but don’t worry because Admission here remains free all day long, so there’s always time enough.

The Circle B Bar Reserve is a great place to explore on foot, and you can get quite close for observations if you take the Eagle Roost Trail. If your interest lies more in nature than human-interest sights, then continue onto Marsh Rabbit Run, where otters often sunbathe by logs while turtles lounge around near water holes beginning at 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM daily.

The Alligator Alley path is a scenic and informative journey through the Everglades. Along this trail, you can spot various species of animals such as alligators sunning themselves on rocks or submerged in water within their natural habitat–not one for those who fear close contact with wildlife.
